Trump talks of possible ‘severe’ consequences for North Korea

President Trump on Thursday said North Korea is behaving dangerously and warned of possible “severe” consequences.

During a joint press conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda, Trump said he didn’t want to talk about options that are available to him.

“But I have some pretty severe things that we’re thinking about,” he said.

{mosads}”That doesn’t mean we’re going to do them. I don’t draw red lines.”

Trump also brought up former President Obama, saying he drew red lines.

“I think we’ll just take a look at what happens over the coming weeks and months with respect to North Korea,” he said.

“It’s a shame that they’re behaving this way, but they are behaving in a very, very dangerous manner and something will have to be done about it.”

Trump also said it’s necessary to “confront the threat” from Pyongyang.

“And we will confront it very strongly,” he said.

His comments come after North Korea earlier this week announced it had tested an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) for the first time that could “reach anywhere in the world.”

The missile traveled more than 1,741 miles before landing over 500 miles from the launch site, according to CNN, which cited North Korean state media.

U.S. intelligence officials are classifying the ICBM as something never before seen, according to CNN.
