CNN producer on new O’Keefe video: Voters are ‘stupid,’ Trump is ‘crazy’

Conservative provocateur and Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe released a fourth secretly recorded video early Friday morning that shows a CNN associate producer calling American voters “stupid as s—” and saying Trump senior counselor Kellyanne Conway looks like “she got hit with a shovel.”

In a video released overnight by O’Keefe on Twitter, a Project Veritas reporter asked CNN associate producer Jimmy Carr, who doesn’t appear to know he’s being recorded, if it “would be fair to question the intellect of the American voter.”

“Oh, no. They’re stupid as s—,” replied the CNN “New Day” associate producer.

Carr also spoke about President Trump, saying everyone inside the network recognizes “he’s just f—ing crazy.”

{mosads}”On the inside, we all recognize he is a clown, that he is hilariously unqualified for this, he’s really bad at this, and that he does not have America’s best interests,” said Carr.

“We recognize he’s just f—ing crazy.”

“Here’s the deal: This is a man who’s not actually a Republican,” Carr continued. “He just adopted that because that was the party he thought he could win in. He doesn’t believe anything that these people believe.”

“Ninety percent of us are on board with just the fact that he’s crazy,” he added.

Carr also said Conway “looks like she got hit with a shovel.”

According to Carr’s LinkedIn page, he has been with CNN since 2013 as a production assistant and associate producer.

O’Keefe released the video through his personal Twitter account; the video was also released by the official Project Veritas account.

The 32-year-old O’Keefe founded Project Veritas in 2010 and has produced a number of controversial undercover videos. He has at times been criticized for releasing content that was selectively edited to portray people in a negative light. O’Keefe has also donned costumes in past videos as part of undercover projects to get people to talk on camera.

In 2010, he was sentenced to three years of probation, 100 hours of community service and a $1,500 fine after he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges stemming from entering then-Sen. Mary Landrieu’s (D-La.) office on false pretenses.

On Monday night, Project Veritas released a video of a medical producer at CNN saying that while he believes the Trump-Russia narrative is “bulls—,” CEO Jeff Zucker has instructed his employees to focus on it to help boost the network’s ratings.

On Wednesday, O’Keefe released another video of CNN contributor and “Messy Truth” host Van Jones calling the investigation into Trump and possible collusion with Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign “a nothingburger.”

Jones also did not know he was being recorded at the time and wrote in a CNN.com piece Thursday the recording was “a hoax.”

CNN has extensively covered investigations and stories around Trump associates possibly colluding with Russian officials during the 2016 campaign.
