Dem group raises $1M after GOP healthcare vote

A liberal group says it has raised more than $1 million in less than 48 hours to unseat House Republicans who voted for an ObamaCare repeal measure.

The group, Swing Left, has seen a major fundraising boost since the House narrowly approved the American Health Care Act on Thursday. About $150,000 of the more than $1 million raised so far came in the hour after the vote, it said.

{mosads}Swing Left is specifically targeting the seats of House Republicans in swing districts in the 2018 midterm elections. Vulnerable Republicans who voted for the bill are expected to face major opposition.

Within hours of the healthcare vote on Thursday, Swing Left said that it had raised more than $500,000 in a span of about 24 hours.

On the group’s radar for the midterm elections are 65 swing districts, 48 of which are held by a Republican and 17 by a Democrat. Democrats need to net at least 25 seats next year to win a House majority.
