Trump tells Georgia House candidate: ‘You’d better win’
President Trump on Friday reportedly told Karen Handel, the GOP candidate for Georgia’s 6th congressional district, that she “better win” the runoff election in June.
According to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, five people who attended a closed-door event at the Capitol City Club saw Trump turn to Handel with a smile and tell her “you’d better win” the race.
Handel responded by saying that the president does not need to worry about that, according to the report.

Trump has been vocal in his support for Handel while urging voters in the state to vote against Democrat Jon Ossoff.
Ossoff failed to clinch a majority of the vote in a crowded 18-candidate field for a special election earlier this month. Since no candidate received an outright majority, Ossoff and Handel advanced as the top candidates to a runoff election slated to be held June 20.
In addition to supporting Handel on Twitter, Trump recorded a robo-call urging Republicans to oppose Ossoff. He also embraced the GOP candidate during a televised speech and helped her with a political fundraiser.
