Trump to host Chinese president at Mar-a-Lago: report

President Trump will host the Chinese president at Mar-a-Lago in April, Axios reported on Monday.

Trump and President Xi Jinping will reportedly meet at Trump’s Palm Beach, Fla., resort on April 6 and 7.

{mosads}Trump in February promised Jinping that the United States will uphold the “One China” policy, which establishes that Beijing is the only formal government of China and that the U.S. will not have formal relations with Taiwan.

Trump during the transition period between the election and his inauguration accepted a call from Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, which angered China’s government.

During his presidential campaign, Trump repeatedly criticized China, arguing trade deals with the nation took jobs away from American workers.
