New regs for Tuesday: Toys, banks, lands
Tuesday’s edition of the Federal Register contains new rules for toy manufacturers, government lands and bank-holding companies.
Here’s what is happening:
Toys: The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is withdrawing safety standards for magnets.
{mosads}The CPSC issued new requirements for magnet toy sets that children play with in October 2014, but said Monday it is removing the regulations to comply with a court order.
This action is not related to President Trump’s regulatory moratorium.
The changes go into effect immediately.
Government lands: The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is raising the prices for hydropower companies looking to rent government lands.
FERC announced Monday the new per-acre rental fees.
The prices go into effect immediately.
Finance: The Securities and Exchange Commission is considering changes to statistical disclosure rules for financial services companies.
The disclosures apply to bank-holding companies.
The public has 60 days to comment.
