Dem launches congessional run with a rocket launch (really)

Call him the Rocket Man.

Facing Lt. Gov. John Carney, a much more well known candidate, in the Democratic primary for Delaware’s only congressional seat, Scott Spencer is launching his campaign on Saturday by launching a 9-foot rocket.

The Delaware News Journal reports that Spencer says the rocket will blast off Saturday morning a little after 10 A.M. Be sure to check out the picture with the story.

“It really is a metaphor for a lot of things,” Spencer told the News Journal. “People are looking up for new leadership. Also, people are looking for someone to blaze a trail that represents their interests better.”

Rep. Mike Castle, the Republican who currently holds the seat, is considering a run for the Senate.

Is this a stunt to get in the papers? Yes. Is it working? Most definitely.
