Ryan uses escaped bobcat to get attention for policy email
Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) may have found a new way to get his supporters’ attention.
Ryan’s office used the subject line “bobcat found” for a mass email Wednesday. But the email wasn’t about the recent discovery of fugitive National Zoo bobcat Ollie — it was a message of select quotes from Ryan about the Supreme Court and tax reform.
The rogue bobcat went missing from the zoo on Monday. Zoo officials called off the efforts Wednesday afternoon, only to discover it on zoo property later in the day.

The email does include a few nods to readers drawn by the mention of the runaway bobcat.
“Moments before Ollie the bobcat was found, Speaker Ryan called in to The Michael Medved Show to discuss the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, regulatory reform, and tax reform,” the email says.
{mosads}“Just as you can continue to visit Ollie the bobcat at her home at the National Zoo, you can also visit speaker.gov for more information on the Republican plan to get the country back on track.”
