Bush to Michigan on Thursday
Former President George W. Bush will speak in Michigan on Thursday, marking a rare post-presidential appearance for the 43rd president.
While his former vice president, Dick Cheney, has vocally criticized the Obama administration in the past month, Bush has remained silent, scheduling few public appearances and declining to speak publicly about his successor.
Bush will speak at The Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan, the Associated Press reported. The speech, at the tiny Lake Michigan College, will be located in the conservative stronghold of Benton Harbor.
A spokesman told the AP that Bush would focus on transitioning out of office in the speech.
