President-elect Donald Trump on Friday complained about his son Eric Trump shutting down his charity foundation over possible conflicts of interest, calling it a “ridiculous shame.”

“My wonderful son, Eric, will no longer be allowed to raise money for children with cancer because of a possible conflict of interest with… my presidency. Isn’t this a ridiculous shame? He loves these kids, has raised millions of dollars for them, and now must stop. Wrong answer!” Donald Trump wrote in a pair of tweets Friday morning.

{mosads}Eric Trump told The Washington Post on Thursday that he would be suspending his charitable foundation following criticism this week of an auction it had sponsored to sell off a chance to get coffee with his sister Ivanka Trump, who is expected to serve in her father’s administration.

The auction was later canceled after The New York Times reported on its existence.

The Eric Trump Foundation has raised more than $15 million since it was founded in 2007, with most of the funds benefiting the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway also expressed disappointment over the move on Thursday, saying in an interview with CNN that the children will now “suffer” because “folks are pointing out what they think to be improprieties.”
