VIDEO: Palin says Letterman’s jokes contribute to abuse

Comedian Dave Letterman’s suggestive jokes about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s (R) daughters earlier this week breed acceptance of abuse, Palin argued Friday.

Responding to the jokes that suggested her daughters may have been “knocked up” by Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, Palin said that Letterman should apologize to women across the country.

Palin called the jokes “a sad commentary about where we are in our culture,” and argued Letterman’s jokes “contribute to acceptance of abuse of young women during an appearance on NBC’s “Today” show Friday morning.

Palin dismissed Letterman’s apology, as well, and demanded a new apology to young women across the country.

“I would say that you and anybody else are extremely naive to believe that incredibly convenient excuse of David Letterman the other day,” Palin told NBC’s Matt Lauer on the “Today” show

“Willow would no doubt want to stay away from David Letterman away after that,” she said. “I would like to see him apologize to young women throughout the country.”
