Clinton’s popular vote lead over Trump breaks 2.3 million
Ballot counting continues and new figures released by The Associated Press on Wednesday show that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has surpassed President-elect Donald Trump in the popular vote by more than 2.3 million.
{mosads}The numbers reported Wednesday place Clinton at 64,874,143 to Trump’s 62,516,883, for a total difference of 2,357,260. In percentages, Clinton has won 48.1 percent of the popular vote, and Trump has 46.4 percent of the vote.
In the Electoral College, however, Trump has 306 votes, while Clinton has 232.
Libertarian Gary Johnson has received 4,442,771 votes, or 3.3 percent of the vote, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein has received 1,420,351 votes, or 1.1 percent.
