Pence: Trump ‘can close the history books on the Clintons’
Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence says electing Donald Trump president will end the Clinton family’s role in American politics.
“We can close the history book on the Clintons once and for all by electing Donald Trump,” he told listeners during a Monday evening campaign rally in Manchester, N.H.
“We’ve had enough of Bill and Hillary Clinton.”
{mosads}“The American people are sick of the pay-to-play politics and the ethics of these people. It’s the kind of politics that is going to come to a crashing halt when Donald Trump is president. In a word, we’re going to drain the swamp,” he said.
Pence encouraged New Hampshire voters to back Trump on Election Day, arguing the battleground state is essential to the Republican presidential nominee’s chances.
“We must ensure here in the state of New Hampshire that Hillary Clinton is never elected president of the United States of America,” he said of the Democratic nominee.
“In just one day, the people of New Hampshire can end the decades of corruption. The other party nominated someone who personifies the failed status quo in Washington.”
Pence added that the FBI’s conclusion about emails from a private server Hillary Clinton used while secretary of State does not change the fact she may have jeopardized sensitive national intelligence.
“Facts are stubborn things,” the GOP’s vice presidential nominee said. “Here’s a fact for you: mishandling classified information is a crime.
“This isn’t just a choice between two people,” Pence added on the night before Election Day. “This is a choice between two futures. I choose to stand with Donald Trump and every American who knows we can make America great again.”
Clinton and Trump are jockeying for support from every possible voter in the waning hours of the 2016 White House race.
Polls show the pair’s fight over the Oval Office remains close at both the national and state levels before Nov. 8.
Clinton leads Trump by about 3 points nationwide, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls.
