Poll: Clinton leads Trump by 3 points nationally
Democratic Hillary Clinton has a 3-point lead over Republican Donald Trump, according to a new Bloomberg Politics poll released a day before the presidential election.
{mosads}Clinton is favored by 44 percent of likely voters, while Trump is backed by 41 percent.
Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson has the support of 4 percent of likely voters, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein is backed by 2 percent.
The poll was conducted before FBI Director James Comey announced Sunday the bureau had not changed its July conclusion regarding Clinton’s use of a private server while secretary of State and whether she had mishandled classified information.
The poll finds Clinton leading among those who have already voted. The Democratic nominee leads Trump among that group, 46 to 38 percent.
Clinton leads Trump by 15 points among women, 15 points among those under age 35 and 37 points among non-white voters.
Trump leads Clinton by 8 points among those without college degrees and 25 points among white men.
Trump has the support of 85 percent of Republicans or those who lean that way. Clinton is backed by 86 percent of Democrats.
The poll was conducted from Nov. 4 to 6 among 799 likely voters. The margin of error is 3.5 percentage points.
According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls, Clinton has a 2.2-point lead over her Republican rival on the final day before the election.
