Report: Clinton camp was frustrated by Pelosi’s delayed endorsement

Hillary Clinton felt House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s response to an endorsement request this summer was a “non-answer,” according to an email released Sunday by Wikileaks and first reported by the Associated Press. 

{mosads}In a July email that appears to have been written by Huma Abedin, Clinton’s top aide relays the former secretary of State’s dissatisfaction with Pelosi’s response.

“HRC asked for her endorsement and she didn’t say yes. HRC said she felt it was a non-answer,” the email reads. “Pelosi said she needed to focus on the democratic agenda.”

The email apparently came from a hack of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s account and is part of an ongoing release of messages by Wikileaks. 

Pelosi, a California Democrat who previously served as the speaker of the House, ultimately endorsed Clinton, but not until the day of her home state’s primary. Multiple news outlets had called the primary for Clinton the day prior.

The Clinton campaign has not confirmed whether the emails are genuine.
