Abedin to host Hillary fundraiser

Longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin will be hosting a fashion fundraiser for the Democratic presidential nominee this Thursday.

{mosads}According to the invitation, first obtained by Independent Journal Review, the event will feature Abedin, Vogue magazine Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour and fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg.

This will mark one of the first public appearances for Abedin, who has stayed off the campaign trail after the FBI found new emails related to the investigation of Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of State on her estranged husband Anthony Weiner’s computer.

On Friday, FBI Director James Comey said that the emails were recovered in an unrelated investigation into Weiner’s alleged sexting with a teenage girl.

The fundraiser will be hosted at the Georgetown mansion home of Constance Milstein, according to the report.

Abedin’s aide told CNN that Abedin is actively working on the Clinton campaign from New York.

“She is there in Brooklyn and happy to cooperate if they ever want to talk to her. She has been very cooperative throughout the process,” the aide told the news network on Tuesday.

“We don’t see any reason, though, that they will need to. But, you know, there is a lot to wrap up this last week or two.”
