Clinton ahead in 2 battleground states

Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump in the battleground states of North Carolina and Florida, according to new polling released Sunday morning.

{mosads}Clinton leads Trump by 6 points in North Carolina, 47 percent to 41 percent, in the new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll.

Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson has the support of 8 percent of likely voters in the state.

In a head-to-head matchup in North Carolina, Clinton holds a 6-point lead over Trump, 50 percent to 44 percent.

Among the 29 percent of those in North Carolina who say they’ve already voted, Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, has a significant advantage, 61 percent to 33 percent.

Clinton has a narrower 1-point lead in Florida, 45 percent to 44 percent.

Johnson has 5 percent support in Florida, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein has 2 percent.

Clinton leads among early voters in Florida as well. Among the 36 percent of likely voters in the state who said they have already voted, Clinton leads Trump, 54 percent to 37 percent.

But among the remainder who said they haven’t yet voted, Trump leads, 51 percent to 42 percent.

The polls, conducted from Oct. 25 to 26, were taken before the FBI said it would review new emails “pertinent” to its investigation into Clinton’s email server.

The Florida poll was conducted among 990 registered voters and 779 likely voters. The margin of error among likely voters is 3.5 percentage points.

The North Carolina poll was conducted among 1,018 registered voters and 780 likely voters. The margin of error among likely voters is 3.5 points.
