Megyn Kelly asking for more than $20 million in contract negotiations

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly is seeking a salary of more than $20 million in contract negotiations with the network, according to The Wall Street Journal.

{mosads}The host of “The Kelly File,” one of the most popular shows on cable, is in active talks over her contract, which will expire next year, according to the Journal.

Rupert Murdoch, chief executive of Fox News and owner of the Journal, told the newspaper the network hopes to get a contract signed “very soon,” adding “it’s up to her.”

He said he is updated on the talks “every minute of the day,” and while he doesn’t want to lose her, “we have a deep bench of talent, many of whom would give their right arm for her spot.”

Networks that may make a play for Kelly include CNN and ABC.

At Fox, she averaged 2.7 million viewers this year, coming second to “The O’Reilly Factor.”

Kelly has gained more popularity during the presidential campaign and became more well known after questioning now-Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump during a GOP primary debate about his treatment of women.
