Poll: Clinton leads Trump by 9 points nationally

A new poll puts presidential candidate Hillary Clinton ahead of her opponent Donald Trump by 9 points nationally.

{mosads}The USA Today/Suffolk University poll released on Wednesday shows the Democratic nominee in the lead, with 47 percent support among likely voters, GOP nominee Trump with 38 percent, Libertarian Gary Johnson with 4 percent and Green Party’s Jill Stein with 2 percent. The poll found that 9 percent of voters remained undecided.

The latest findings also show that many Americans are concerned about the transfer of power, with some fearing violence.

Fifty-one percent of those polled said that they were somewhat concerned with a possibility of violence on Nov. 8, and 1 in 5 voters said they were “very concerned.”

According to the poll, 40 percent of Trump supporters said that they would not accept the legitimacy of the election if Clinton wins the White House.

While 72 percent of Clinton supporters said that they would accept the loss of their candidate as “fair and square,” only 35 percent of his supporters said they would accept a Trump loss.

USA Today/Suffolk University Poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters by landline and cellphone Oct. 20–24. The margin of error is 3 percentage points.
