Trump son: Talk like father’s leaked 2005 tapes ‘a fact of life’

Donald Trump Jr. on Friday dismissed the leaked 2005 tapes of his father’s lewd remarks about women, saying such conversations between men are “a fact of life.”

{mosads}”Obviously he’s not happy about that, but I think we probably all know guys who have had conversations with other guys that go a little bit in that direction, that’s a fact of life,” Trump Jr. said in an interview with KIRO radio 97.3, as reported first by CNN.

“I think he’s able to relate to ordinary Americans because in many cases he is still very much like that. He does do that. He hasn’t spent his whole life sitting there polishing every statement he’s ever made, every conversation he’s ever had,” Donald Trump’s son added.

Trump Jr. acknowledged that his father’s statements “were a mistake” but added that he made the error because he has not been a career politician.

“He speaks from the heart, that one is obviously one that we don’t want to — that was a mistake, he recognizes that, he realizes it — but he’s able to make a mistake because he hasn’t spent his whole life just trying to be a politician.”

The GOP presidential nominee has been facing widespread criticism for his lewd comments about sexually pursuing women that were captured on hot microphone eleven years ago.

Trump has publicly apologized for the incident, but added that his comments do not compare to the actions of former President Bill Clinton.

In the wake of the tapes being released, Trump has been accused by a slew of women of sexual misconduct over the years.
