Michelle Obama laid into Donald Trump in a passionate speech on Thursday, blasting the Republican presidential nominee for “bragging about sexually assaulting women.”
{mosads}The first lady’s emotional takedown of Trump resonated on social media, as many praised her powerful and visceral rebuke in what is being called one of the major moments of the 2016 election.
“Michelle Obama” and “FLOTUS” were trending on Twitter in the hour after her remarks at a campaign event for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, N.H.
The first lady’s speech came the day after several women came forward to allege that Trump had touched them inappropriately in the past.
“This is not normal. This is not politics as usual,” Obama said. “This is disgraceful; it is intolerable.”
“I can’t stop thinking about this. It has shaken me to my core.”
