Poll: Trump up by 4 points in Iowa
Donald Trump leads Hillary Clinton by 4 points in Iowa in a poll conducted before a leaked tape showing the Republican nominee making lewd comments about women roiled the presidential race Friday.
{mosads}Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, leads his Democratic rival, 43 percent to 39 percent, among likely voters in the Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa poll released late Saturday. Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson has 6 percent support in the battleground state, and the Green Party’s Jill Stein picked up 2 percent.
Pollsters found 48 percent of respondents said they were bothered “a lot” by Trump’s attitude toward women, including his comments about a former Miss Universe.
More than half, 52 percent, also said they had questions about Clinton’s trustworthiness.
Trump is the favorite among likely Iowa voters on issues including the economy, combating Islamic terrorism, immigration and taxes.
Clinton, meanwhile, is seen as a stronger choice for international relations.
The poll of 800 Iowans, including 642 likely voters, was conducted Oct. 3–6. It has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
