Poll: Trump up 4 in SC
Donald Trump leads Hillary Clinton by 4 points in the presidential race in South Carolina, according to a new poll.
The GOP nominee tops Clinton, 42 to 38 percent, among likely Palmetto State voters in a Winthrop University survey released Thursday.
{mosads}Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson grabs 6 percent, while Green Party nominee Jill Stein takes 3 percent.
Pollsters found South Carolina’s likely voters view Trump more favorably than Clinton, the Democratic nominee.
Forty percent see Trump positively, compared to 39 percent who view Clinton favorable. Fifty two consider Trump negatively, while 57 percent see Clinton that way.
Most respondents see neither Clinton nor Trump as trustworthy, however. Seventy-one percent say Clinton is not honest, compared to 61 percent who say they same thing about Trump.
Winthrop University questioned 475 likely voters from Sept. 18 to 26, which was before Monday’s presidential debate. It has a 4.5 percentage point margin of error.
Clinton leads Trump by about 3 points nationwide, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls.
