George H.W. Bush voting for Clinton?

Former President George H.W. Bush is planning to vote for Hillary Clinton in November, according to a Facebook post by the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy.

{mosads}On Monday, Politico reported the post from Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, a former lieutenant governor of Maryland.

It showed a picture of her shaking hands with Bush, with a caption that reads, “The President told me he’s voting for Hillary!!”

Jim McGrath, a spokesman for Bush, told Politico in an email that the former Republican president’s ballot would remain private.

“The vote President Bush will cast as a private citizen in some 50 days will be just that: a private vote cast in some 50 days. He is not commenting on the presidential race in the interim.”

A number of officials from the two Bush administrations have announced their intentions to cross the aisle and vote for Clinton because of their distaste of Donald Trump.
