GOP nominee Donald Trump’s campaign is seeking donors for a $2.5 million transition team fund, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has been leading an effort to connect with potential contributors, according to The Wall Street Journal.

{mosads}Christie said in a call the private money would go toward staff and travel. He asked about 100 people on the call to donate $5,000 and to get their spouses to do the same, the Journal reported Thursday.

“That’s a big job that needs to get done,” Christie said.

Federal lawmakers already approved $13 million to help the next administration prepare to take over.

An additional $9.5 million in federal funds is being sought for next year, according to the Journal.

The public funds would go toward office space, computers and other infrastructure.

A Hillary Clinton spokesman declined to tell the Journal how much their transition team was trying to collect.
