Reid: Trump is an ‘egomaniac’
The first words out of Harry Reid’s mouth at a Hillary Clinton rally in Las Vegas on Thursday were a slight at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
{mosads}”Secretary Clinton’s opponent is an egomaniac. That’s the last thing I’m going to say about the egomaniac today,” the outgoing Senate minority leader said at his first campaign appearance with the Democratic presidential nominee.
But he didn’t keep that promise, later slamming Trump for saying in the past that a woman can’t be both “attractive and smart.”
“You can’t make up stuff like that. That’s what he said.”
Reid’s Silver State Senate seat is up for grabs and is considered a toss-up heading into November, a critical race in determining whether Democrats regain control of the Senate.
Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto will face Republican Rep. Joe Heck, who Reid referred to as “Joe ‘I am really Trump’ Heck.”
“The difference between [Democrats] holding the Senate and not is here in Nevada. … I want this seat not to go to a man who’s name is Joe,” Reid said.
“We want to make sure we have a Democratic Senate.”
Clinton echoed that sentiment, saying Masto’s victory would break barriers.
“She will be the first Latina ever elected to the United States Senate,” Clinton said.
