Trump: ‘Most people don’t care’ about Trump U
Donald Trump on Monday said voters are disinterested in the controversy over lawsuits against Trump University.
“This is just a small civil case,” he said on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends.” “This is not a big deal. They’re making it a big deal because of me.
{mosads}“Most people don’t care about it. It gets brought up by the other side. It shouldn’t be a case. This is a case that should have been thrown out a long time ago by the judge.”
Trump said the overwhelming majority of Trump University participants had positive experiences.
“I have thousands of students who have taken this course that have given us rave reviews,” he said. “I don’t mean like two, I mean thousands and thousands.”
“They’ll be witnesses, by the way,” the GOP’s presumptive presidential nominee added. “They’ll testify, and we’ll win. Let’s put this one in the win column.”
Trump also brushed off critics who are hammering him over comments about Judge Gonzalo Curiel’s “Mexican heritage,” saying they are missing warning signs about his potential bias.
“All I’m trying to do is figure out why I’m being treated so unfairly by a judge,” he said. “He was appointed a federal judge by President Obama, for the record.”
Trump said last week Curiel’s heritage is “an absolute conflict,” pointing to the billionaire’s immigration policy stances.
Trump University is facing multiple lawsuits nationwide alleging it defrauded students and left them with crushing debt.
