Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) shot down speculation Thursday that he could be presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s vice president.

Asked if he sees himself in the No. 2 spot, Portman told reporters, “No, I’m fine.”

{mosads}”I’m running for the Senate in Ohio,” he added.

Portman’s remarks came after he met with Trump on Thursday as part of a group of 10 GOP senators.

The Ohio Republican, who faces a tough reelection bid, said the sit-down “was a good listening session … on both sides.”

Portman formally endorsed Ohio Gov. John Kasich but has said he will support Trump if he’s the nominee.

A Quinnipiac University poll released this week found Trump leading Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton in Ohio, which was brought up in the meeting.

The poll also showed Portman 1 percentage point behind his Democratic opponent, former Gov. Ted Strickland. Despite tight polls, Portman has a significant cash advantage.
