Dem Senate candidate rips Trump’s ‘serial harassment’ of women

A Democrat in Arkansas’s Senate race on Monday released a campaign ad documenting some of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s comments about women.

“Donald Trump has repeatedly spouted offensive comments denigrating women,” Conner Eldridge said in a statement. “This has to be called out for what it is: serial harassment.

{mosads}“I’ve prosecuted domestic violence and cases in which criminals have harassed and abused women in horrible ways, including verbally,” continued Eldridge, a former U.S. attorney. “A senator should strongly condemn these comments. Instead, Sen. [John] Boozman [R-Ark.] is an enabler of Donald Trump’s reprehensible behavior.

“For John Boozman to unequivocally state that he would support Donald Trump for president speaks volumes about Senator Boozman’s willingness to put political parties and partisan politics ahead of common decency toward women,” he added of his opponent.

Eldridge’s ad is titled “Harassment” and compiles old clips of Trump insulting women.

“She ate like a pig,” the Trump said in one interview.

“I’d look her right in that fat, ugly face of hers,” he said in a second clip.

“The boob job is terrible,” he added in a third segment. “They look like two light posts coming out of her body.”

Eldridge’s spot then describes Boozman as a “Trump enabler” because of his vow to support whomever the GOP nominates for president.

“I’ll support the candidate regardless of who we pick,” Boozman said in the clip.

Eldridge is running to unseat Boozman, who has represented Arkansas since 2011 after serving in the House.

Trump has repeatedly raised eyebrows for remarks critics say are demeaning toward women. Last week, he said Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton overplays “the woman card.”
