Ex-WWE chief: Cruz and Kasich pact is ‘collusion’

The former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment says that Ted Cruz and John Kasich are unfairly tag-teaming Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump.

“Clearly, politics makes strange bedfellows,” Linda McMahon said on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria.” “I think we’re seeing that for sure.

{mosads}“I think Donald is making the hardest push that he can with this collusion right now. I’ll call it collusion. With Cruz and Kasich, we’ll just have to see.”

Cruz and Kasich on late Sunday unveiled a joint effort aimed at keeping Trump from the GOP presidential nomination.

The pair intends to block Trump from the required 1,237 delegates by dividing some of the remaining primaries.

Cruz will clear room for Kasich in next week’s GOP presidential primary in Indiana, while Kasich will later return the favor in Oregon and New Mexico.

McMahon on Monday said that she is expecting a contested Republican National Convention in Cleveland this July.

McMahon added that gender is not necessarily an advantage for front-runner Hillary Clinton in the Democratic side of the presidential race.

“I’ve always felt, personally, that you elect the candidate you think is best for the job,” said McMahon, a two-time GOP Senate candidate in Connecticut.

“[It is] not based on race, not based on gender. I think most of our voting public looks at it that way, or at least I would hope so. They want the best candidate for the job.”
