Morgan Freeman narrates ad for Hillary

Morgan Freeman, the actor famed in part for his distinctive voice, is the narrator behind a new ad from Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

In the ad unveiled Friday, titled “All the Good,” the “Shawshank Redemption” and “Glory” star says of the Democratic presidential candidate, “Her church taught her to do all the good you can, for all the people you can, for as long you can.”

{mosads}“Her life’s work has been about breaking barriers, and so would her presidency,” Freeman, 78, says as black and white photos of Clinton smiling and embracing supporters are shown.

“She understands that our country can’t reach its potential unless we all do, together, a stronger country,” the minute-long ad says. The spot will air in South Carolina leading up to next week’s Democratic primary there, according to The New York Times.

It’s not the first time the Academy Award winner — who’s played God more than once in films — has lent his voice to a presidential campaign — he narrated a 2012 re-election campaign ad for Obama. That same year, the veteran entertainer also donated $1 million to the pro-Obama super-PAC Priorities USA Action.

Freeman has been a frequent sight in Washington in recent weeks. On Wednesday, he was eyed leaving a downtown D.C. restaurant at the same time as President Obama. He also attended a dinner with lawmakers earlier this month to promote his documentary about cancer, “The C Word.”
