Santorum postpones South Carolina tour

Rick Santorum has postponed his 46-county tour in South Carolina, his presidential campaign announced Wednesday.

{mosads}The Republican hopeful had planned to start his  tour of South Carolina on Wednesday, with events in York, Cherokee, Spartanburg, Abbeville and Aiken before the state’s primary on Feb. 20.

The campaign announced the “inVest in America Tour” would be postponed and said the former Pennsylvania senator would take part in media activities in Washington on Wednesday.

“The Santorum Campaign is working to reschedule the Senator’s events and he looks forward to returning to South Carolina soon,” the campaign said in a statement.

Santorum, who won the 2012 Iowa caucuses, received only 1 percent support from Republican voters Monday night. He also has less than 1 percent support nationally, according to the RealClearPolitics average of polls.
