Monday: Energy debate, Coast Guard funding

Senators will continue debating a wide-ranging energy reform bill Monday.  

The Senate will convene at 3 p.m.. Senators are expected to restart work on the energy bill from Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) after leadership remarks. 
 
{mosads}The Senate has already approved nearly a dozen amendments to the legislation, but senators have submitted almost 200 potential changes. 
 
No roll call votes are expected on Monday, with senators scheduled to vote on the next slate of amendments on Tuesday afternoon. Lawmakers are hoping to wrap up their work on the energy bill this week.
 
Meanwhile, the House returns to Washington on Monday, convening at noon for morning hour and 2 p.m. for legislative business. 
 
House lawmakers will vote on a handful of proposals at 6:30 p.m., including legislation to fund the Coast Guard and bolster electricity in Africa.
