Pro-Bush super-PAC raises $15 million to end 2015

Right to Rise, the super-PAC supporting Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign, reported on Sunday raising $15.1 million in the second half of 2015.

Almost two-thirds of the committee’s second-half funds came from a single contribution. A company owned by Hank Greenberg — former head of American Insurance Group — gave $10 million in October.

{mosads}The super-PAC raised a total of $118 million on behalf of the former Florida governor in 2015, and dominated the presidential field in terms of spending by burning through almost $60 million in one year.

In the fourth quarter of the year alone, the committee spent over $54 million to promote Bush, who has a RealClearPolitics polling average of 4.8 percent nationally.

Right to Rise has also targeted Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Bush’s GOP rival, who has risen to the top of the so-called establishment candidate lane, yet still trails behind Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and front-runner Donald Trump.

And despite the committee’s high spending and diminished fundraising, it entered 2016 with $58.6 million on hand.
