Thursday: Energy debate

The Senate will continue working through a wide-ranging energy reform bill on Thursday.  

Lawmakers began debate on the legislation on Wednesday, with Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) saying they intend to finish their work on the proposal from Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) next week. 
 
{mosads}Senators are expected to take at least two amendment votes on Thursday — one from Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) on civil research and development of nuclear technology and one from Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) on funding for the Department of Energy’s advanced research projects agency. 
 
Senators are expected to vote on Crapo’s amendment at noon and Schatz’s amendment at 1:45 p.m.
 
Senators could vote on other amendments Thursday, though no other votes have been scheduled. 
 
The House is not in session.
