Clinton takes page from Trump playbook
Hillary Clinton took a page from Republican presidential rival Donald Trump’s playbook on Friday by phoning in for a live television interview.
Clinton called into MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” to discuss differences between her and Democratic presidential rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) the morning after the latest GOP debate.
{mosads}Trump, who regularly calls into multiple networks for morning interviews, bucked his routine and appeared on the same program for an in-person interview in Iowa earlier in the morning.
Clinton said during her MSNBC interview that she has a “very clear” and “deeper” sense of “exactly what is going to be required” to be president after her unsuccessful 2008 bid.
She continued to go after Sanders over healthcare, and defended herself after Vice President Biden’s stinging remarks about Clinton being “relatively new” to the debate over income inequality.
“I have a long, long record of tackling all kinds of inequality,” the former first lady insisted Friday.
Clinton is battling Sanders in Iowa and New Hampshire, where polls have tightened just weeks before ballots are cast in the early voting states.
