Thursday: ObamaCare, highways

The Senate will vote on an ObamaCare repeal package on Thursday.

Republicans will need 51 votes to get the reconciliation bill, which includes a provision blocking federal funding for Planned Parenthood, through the upper chamber.

{mosads}The push to link the organization to the larger repeal legislation has gotten pushback from centrist Republicans. Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) want to to amend the legislation to remove the Planned Parenthood provision.

Senators are expected to start a series of votes on amendments around 1:30 p.m. before moving to final passage.

Meanwhile, the House will vote on a long-term highway transportation bill.

The votes comes days after lawmakers unveiled a deal on the legislation, which had gotten bogged down in a conference committee between House and Senate lawmakers.

Votes in the House are expected between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
