AFL-CIO boss: Walker is ‘still a disgrace’

The AFL-CIO on Monday wasted few words and little time in biding farewell to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s presidential hopes.

“Scott Walker is still a disgrace, just no longer national,” AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said in a one-sentence statement after news that Walker was going to announce he is ending his 2016 campaign.

Walker faced similar ire from the AFL-CIO last week after he unveiled his labor plan that called for eliminating public-sector unions and the National Labor Relations Board.

Trumka was equally fierce in his response calling him a “one trick pony” who is “attacking working people again.”

Walker unsuccessfully tried to sell his labor-busting rhetoric on a national level.

Trumka jabbed Walker last week on Capitol Hill, arguing that his labor plan was clearly failing to gain traction and help his campaign.

When Walker jumped into the race in July, Trumka’s statement was similarly short.

“Scott Walker is a national disgrace,” he said.
