Some Clinton server data may be recoverable

The FBI may be able to recover some data from Hillary Clinton’s private email server despite an attempt to wipe it clean, NBC News reported, citing two sources with direct knowledge.

{mosads}The FBI “will try to figure what’s there, how it got there and who put it there,” a source told NBC.

Clinton, the Democratic presidential front-runner, announced last week she was turning over her private server and a backup USB flash drive to the Justice Department amid a federal investigation into her use of the server while secretary of State.

A lawyer representing a computer services firm that helped manage Clinton’s server after she left the State Department said it was “blank,” The Washington Post reported last week.

Clinton’s lawyer had said the server was wiped clean, the House Select Committee on Benghazi said earlier this year, presumably after she turned over her approximately 30,000 work-related emails for archiving.

A group of intelligence officials reviewing Clinton’s emails have flagged more than 300 for further review to determine whether they contained any classified information, according to a court document.
