Fiorina doubles down on Clinton email accusations
Republican presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina on Sunday doubled-down on her accusation that Hillary Clinton lied about sending classified emails through a private server, saying the “cover-up is worse than the crime.”
{mosads}Fiorina said in a recent GOP debate that Clinton has lied about the emails and what happened during the terrorist attack in Benghazi three years ago.
“The more this story goes on, the more it becomes clear that she has lied,” Fiorina said on ABC News’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”
“It’s clear that this server was parked in some IT firm in New Jersey getting cleaned. Boy, that raises all kinds of issues.”
Clinton, who recently turned over the server to Justice Department officials, is arguing that the matter is an issue of federal protocols on how classified email is labeled.
There have been reports that there are several classified emails on her server.
“It’s almost hard to believe. It strains credulity to accept that a secretary of State, who handled all of her communications on a home-brewed server, never passed classified information on her device and over that server,” Fiorina said.
“Of course she did. And now we’re finding out she did,” she said.
“As usual, the cover-up is worse than the crime.”
Fiorina said Clinton’s handling of the situation in the aftermath of the Benghazi attack sent the wrong signal to terrorist groups.
“The signal it sent was it’s open season,” she said.
“We can attack an embassy, murder four Americans and nothing is going to happen.”
