Trump opens first Iowa office

Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has opened his first campaign office in the early-voting state of Iowa.

Trump’s campaign opened its first office in West Des Moines, his Iowa strategist, Chuck Laudner, told The Des Moines Register on Thursday.

{mosads}Laudner said the celebrity real estate tycoon essentially has a second office in the form of a blue bus emblazoned with “TRUMP” and his campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”

The GOP front-runner, who plans to arrive Saturday at the Iowa State Fair by private helicopter, has a growing staff of 10 paid operatives in the Hawkeye State, which holds the nation’s first 2016 caucuses Feb. 1.

“I think he’s got a real campaign here,” Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad (R) told The Washington Post. “Whether he’s willing to devote the time to go to as many places as some of the other candidates are going is the question.”

Trump leads in Iowa with 22 percent support, leapfrogging Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who has dropped to third in the state behind retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, according to a CNN/ORC poll out this week.
