Sunday shows preview: Spinning the first 2016 debate

Fallout from the first Republican primary debate will be the talk of the town Sunday, as candidates jockey for position after clearing the first major hurdle of the race.

Donald Trump will seek to hold onto his pole position amid his growing feud with Fox News debate moderator Megyn Kelly.

Carly Fiorina, who did not qualify for the main debate but impressed at the undercard, will move up to a primetime spot as one of only two candidates — along with Trump — scheduled to make appearances on three major news networks.

{mosads}Several other primary contenders who stood out during the debate, for better or for worse, will round out the morning.

Here is a list of Sunday morning’s expected guests:

ABC’s “This Week”: GOP front-runner Trump will speak with George Stephanopoulos to discuss fallout from the debate.

A trio of Trump’s 2016 opponents – former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry – will also appear on the program.

In addition, Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) will discuss the importance of the Voting Rights Act on the week of its 50th anniversary.

CBS’s “Face the Nation”: Trump will also make an appearance on CBS.

He will be joined by former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, who will discuss her rising star in the Republican primary field after a strong showing at the first debate.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will sit down host John Dickerson in an exclusive interview to discuss his reaction to the first GOP debate and explain his recently announced support for the Iran nuclear agreement.

Republican primary candidate and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson will offer his take on the first Republican primary debate.

And Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus will delve into the debate. He is expected to respond to Trump’s refusal to rule out a third-party presidential bid.

CNN’s “State of the Union”: Trump will make an appearance with host Jake Tapper to give his take on the first Republican primary debate and talk about his controversial post-debate comments.

Fiorina will be on as well, to discuss her debate performance and public support of Fox News host Megyn Kelly, the target of Trump’s ire.

Kasich, who narrowly qualified for the primetime debate, will be on to offer his take on how the debate went.

“Fox News Sunday”: Host Chris Wallace, one of three moderators at the first GOP debate, has several Republican presidential candidates on tap.

In addition to Fiorina, Wallace will also sit down for an exclusive interview with Republican primary candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who sparred with several GOP contenders at the first debate.

NBC’s “Meet the Press”: Host Chuck Todd sits down with Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fl.) for an exclusive interview on the issues of immigration and foreign policy.

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) will also join the program discuss her position on the Iran nuclear agreement in the wake of Sen. Chuck Schumer’s (D-N.Y.) defection on the issue.

Civil rights advocates Martin Luther King III and Andrew Young will round out the show with a discussion of the Voting Rights Act on its 50th anniversary.
