Jeb Bush to break bread with Romneys
Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush plans on hosting 2016 GOP nominee Mitt Romney and his wife Ann for lunch next week.
Bush will welcome the Romneys at Walker’s Point, the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Me., according to the Washington Post.
{mosads}Aides for both men have confirmed the rendezvous, the publication added Saturday.
“Governor and Mrs. Romney look forward to meeting with Governor Jeb Bush and his family at Walker’s Point this coming week,” a Romney aide said.
The Romneys’ visit comes after they meet with two other GOP White House hopefuls this weekend.
They are greeting New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) at their summer house in Wolfeboro, N.H. this weekend, the New York Times reported.
Christie posted an Instagram photo Saturday morning of himself with Romney and Rubio.
Romney previously met with Bush last January. The two men huddled in Utah while Romney was considering a third Republican presidential campaign.
Wolfeboro is approximately a 50-mile drive from Kennebunkport.
Bush hosted top campaign donors at his family’s Maine retreat Thursday and Friday.
He is next marching in two Fourth of July parades Saturday.
The former Florida governor also plans on campaigning through New Hampshire this weekend.
Bush formally launched his 2016 campaign June 15 in Miami.
He is now looking to win the White House like two of his family members before him.
Jeb Bush’s father George H.W. Bush and his older brother George W. Bush are both former presidents.
Romney ruled out a third presidential campaign earlier this year.
He unsuccessfully sought the White House in 2012 and 2008.
