‘Hamilton’ star on the new $10 bill: ‘Yay women!’

Following Wednesday’s announcement that Alexander Hamilton will share the $10 bill by an as-yet-unannounced historical female figure, many took to social networks to voice their opinion — including, most appropriately, Lin-Manuel Miranda, star of the critically acclaimed broadway musical “Hamilton.”

In a series of half-serious tweets, Miranda, who plays the eponymous founding father in the award-winning show, lamented the elimination of Hamilton from the face of the ubiquitous sawbuck.

{mosads}”Yay Women! RIP, my “10 Dollar Founding Father” lyric!” Miranda wrote, referencing a song from the show.

The 35-year-old Tony Award winner wrote both the music and lyrics for the perpetually sold-out play.

While momentum had been gathering recently to replace Andrew Jackson with a woman, Treasury Secretary Jack Lew ultimately decided to ditch Hamilton instead.

“But Jackson stays? The MURDEROUS Andrew Jackson is still money?” Miranda inquired. “Cool. Cool cool cool. *laughs maniacally, but you’re not sure if he’s okay*”
