Thursday: Trade, NDAA
The House will start voting on trade legislation Thursday.
The House is expected to take up a trade preferences proposal, which includes a new means of funding a related Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) bill.
{mosads}House lawmakers are also expected to complete their work on a defense spending bill, which has garnered a veto threat from the White House.
House lawmakers will convene at 10 a.m. First votes are expected between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., with final votes between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Senate will continue work on an annual defense policy bill.
The Senate is expected to convene at 10 a.m. for leader remarks and morning business. It will start debate of the National Defense Authorization Act around 11 a.m.
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Wednesday suggested that Democrats are blocking additional votes on amendments to the bill, and there are currently no votes scheduled for Thursday.
