Michelle Obama: My brother is better than POTUS at basketball
When first lady Michelle Obama was asked who is better at basketball, President Obama or her brother, she didn’t hesitate to answer.
“My brother is better than my husband in basketball,” she told a group of children Wednesday during a Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day at the White House. “I don’t think there’s any contest. That’s pretty clear-cut.”
{mosads}The first lady wasn’t simply teasing the president. Her brother, Craig Robinson, starred at Princeton University in the 1980s and coached at Brown and Oregon State. He now works at ESPN as a college basketball analyst.
“I mean, my brother really played basketball,” she said. “My husband dabbles in basketball. He enjoys basketball.”
The president has been an avid recreational basketball player. He played in traditional Election Day pick-up games during his 2008 and 2012 campaigns. But in recent years, he has replaced basketball with golf as his sport of choice, citing his age and risk of injury.
“I’ll be honest with you, my game is a little broke,” Obama said during a February town hall event in Indianapolis. “I’ve been a little busy.”
