CBS News’s Bob Schieffer to retire this summer
Bob Schieffer, host of CBS’s “Face the Nation,” will retire this summer, he announced Wednesday.
{mosads}Schieffer, 78, has moderated the Sunday political talk show since 1991 and has been with CBS News since 1969.
He made the announcement at a symposium at the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at Texas Christian University. Schieffer attended the school.
He has won six Emmy awards and was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 2013.
Schieffer celebrated the 60th anniversary of “Face the Nation” in November. He was the eighth host.
