Lewinsky to host ‘The View’?

Barbara Walters is reportedly eyeing Monica Lewinsky for a spot on “The View.”

An insider described as a network source tells the Daily Mail that Walters, who created the female gabfest in 1997, predicts putting Lewinsky in a co-hosting role would be a “run away success.”

According to the paper’s source, Walters, who retired from “The View” last year, has expressed confidence in hiring the former White House intern, saying, “the younger demographic of online users would tune in daily to see what she had to say.”

{mosads}The show has suffered a ratings freefall in the last year as it’s cycled through a slew of co-hosts who subsequently exited, including Rosie O’Donnell and Jenny McCarthy.

Lewinsky, 41, became a national punchline after her affair with then-President Clinton was exposed in 1998. The California native has reemerged in the public spotlight in recent months, after penning an essay last year in Vanity Fair magazine in which she declared it was time to “burn the beret and bury the blue dress.” She’s now working as an advocate against cyber bullying.

A “View” rep told the Daily Mail that while Lewinsky has been invited on the talk show as a guest, she’s not on a list of potential co-hosts.
