Huckabee: Clinton evokes ‘The Godfather’

Hillary Clinton continued to get hammered on Sunday for her decision to use a personal email service during her time leading the State Department

{mosads}“There’s a protocol that she didn’t follow,” said former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee on “Fox News Sunday.”

“There’s also some legal issues about whether or not it’s a good idea,” Huckabee said, “to store top secret information … on a personal server in a personal home away from all the firewalls that the government would provide.”

It was revealed this week that Clinton, the Democrats’ leading 2016 presidential candidate, had used a private server in her Chappaqua, N.Y., home to host her email during four years as secretary of State. The discovery has raised questions about whether Clinton violated government laws requiring officials to archive all emails and letters.

The Republican-controlled House panel investigating the Benghazi terror attacks have subpoenaed Clinton’s emails following this week’s revelations. The move was politically divisive, with the committee’s Democrats heavily criticizing the decision.

Huckabee has previously suggested that Clinton might have broken the law with her actions. He didn’t back down from his assertion on Sunday, but acknowledged that he can understand Clinton’s motivation.

“I think anybody who’s ever been in politics would love to keep a lot of things quiet,” he said. “People want the candor of conversation.”

But as a valuable intelligence target to foreign governments, Clinton should have realized she was “a serious target for being hacked,” he added.

If Clinton officially announces her expected 2016 candidate, Huckabee predicted the brewing email scandal “will linger.”

To him, it’s just part of the Clinton family mentality, which he compared to mob boss Michael Corleone from The Godfather.

“It’s not personal, it’s just business,” Huckabee said.
