WATCH: ‘Under the Dome,’ the documentary about pollution that went viral in China
A new documentary chronicling China’s environmental problems went viral, tallying up more than 175 million views online in the span of two days.
The Associated Press reports the millions of views highlight the country’s increased concern over air, water and soil pollution.
{mosads}The documentary, titled “Under the Dome,” looks at how 30 years of development has cost China’s environment.
Hosted by a former state TV reporter Chai Jing, the film blames the government for failing to rein in polluters and allowing more coal, and oil production.
New Environment Minister Chen Jining praised the film, saying it represented a “growing public concern over environmental protection and threats to human health,” according to AP.
